Murray & Darling Rivers Confluence
Junction of Australia's Larget Two Rivers
Junction of Australia’s two largest rivers. The Murray and Darling river
system is the fourth largest system in the world and the junction itself
can be enjoyed from a viewing platform in “Junction Park” which also
has barbeque and picnic facilities.

 

  Murray River Lock & Weir No.10
Irrigation Maintenance & Water Flow Regulation
Located on the Murray River, just past the junction is Lock & Weir No. 10.
The Lock is presented on beautiful lawns where you can relax and witness
boats and vessels pass through and enjoy the exciting workings of the Lock
and meet the Lock Master.

Fishing, Waterskiing, Boating & Leisure
Both the Murray and Darling Rivers present a magnificent opportunity
to try your hand at rowing, fishing, swimming, skiing, boating or just
general relaxation on the banks. They also provide a great habitat for
many native birds and wildlife.

 

  George Perry Sandhills
Rolling Red Dunes & Movie Backdrop
The sandhills are featured as a backdrop to many movies, adverts and
television shows. According to geologists, the Perry Sandhills originated
after an ice age (40,000 years ago) and are formed by wind erosion over
thousands of years.
 

Old Wentworth Gaol
Circa 1879 - 1927
As featured in many television documentaries, this fascinating
landmark is located right in the heart of town. A self guided tour
allows you the chance to explore the history of the prison that
stands as a reminder of those harsh and uncompromising days.

 

  Wentworth Folk Museum
Pioneer World, History, Heritage & Megafauna
The Rotary Club have collected over 3,000 artefacts and relics covering all
aspects on the history of Wentworth. Also on display are skeleton remains
of giant mega-fauna (kangaroos, lions, emus and wombats) which have
been found at the sand hills.
